Everest Base Camp Trip Overview
Why This Trek is Special
The adventure begins with a fun flight from Manthali to Lukla, a small mountain town. From there, you'll walk through pretty villages, forests, and cross bridges decorated with colorful prayer flags. The trail is surrounded by huge mountains like Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and of course, Mount Everest.
A special moment on the trek is visiting phortse Monastery. It’s a peaceful place where you can watch monks pray while snowy mountains stand in the background. Another highlight is Kala Patthar, a high viewpoint where you’ll see the best views of Mount Everest and other big mountains.
The Challenges and Rewards
The trek is challenging, but it’s possible. You’ll need to walk for several hours each day, climb steep paths, and deal with the thinner air at high altitudes. The highest point is Kala Patthar, at 5,545 meters (18,192 feet). It’s important to be in good shape and take breaks to adjust to the altitude.
Even though it’s hard, reaching the base of Mount Everest and standing among the tallest mountains in the world will make you feel proud and happy. It’s a feeling you’ll never forget.
What You’ll Need
The trek usually takes 12 to 15 days, depending on your pace. You’ll need warm clothes, sturdy boots, and a good sleeping bag to stay comfortable. Along the way, teahouses will give you a simple place to sleep and meals to keep you energized.
When to Go
The best times to trek are in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, the weather is clear, and the views are amazing. The temperatures are just right—not too hot or too cold—making it the perfect time to hike.
In the end, the Everest Base Camp Trek is an adventure you’ll always remember. You’ll see breathtaking mountains, meet amazing people, and feel proud of what you’ve achieved. It’s a journey that’s truly one in a lifetime.

Notes:
Flights depend on weather conditions delays are common Manthali Airport is the alternative airport used in peak trekking seasons due to air traffic at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport It’s best to schedule buffer days in case of flight disruptions Flights between Lukla Tenzing-Hillary Airport) and Manthali (Ramechhap Airport) are typically operated by several Nepalese airlines, including Summit Air, Sita Air The flight duration is approximately 15- 20 m covering a distance of about 74 kilometers.
During peak trekking seasons—March to May and September to November—flights to and from Lukla are often rerouted from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport to Manthali Airport. This change aims to alleviate air traffic congestion at Kathmandu Airport and provide more reliable flight schedules for travelers heading to the Everest region.

I had the most incredible experience trekking to Everest Base Camp with the Orasoft Trek team! From day one, they made everything smooth, safe, and fun. Our guide was super knowledgeable and friendly, always checking in to make sure we were doing okay — especially at high altitudes.
The whole team was kind, supportive, and made us feel like part of the family. The views were breathtaking, the culture unforgettable, and the overall journey was life-changing.
If you’re thinking about doing the EBC trek, I can’t recommend Orasoft Trek enough. They truly made this once-in-a-lifetime adventure even more special
